A Revelation of Being · Part 1 · The thesis

Being

The capital B of Being in the title of this book is not there by mistake.

Being, with a capital B, is one of the names of God. Not the only one: the traditions we are going to visit call it Brahman, Ishvara, the Infinite Creator, All That Is. They are different names with the same meaning, and each one will appear in its place, further on.

Because of that capital letter, "A Revelation of Being" can be read in three ways. All three are true.

It can be a revelation about Being: a book that speaks of God.

It can be a revelation from Being, in the sense of coming from it: a book whose authorship does not belong to the one who signs it.

And it can be a revelation about the act of being, as opposed to having, which is what usually fills our days.

There is still a fourth reading, and it is the one this book is about.

"Being" is also what we are. The human being. Put the capital letter in place and the whole expression changes size: the human Being. There it is, in two words, everything this book has to say.

And notice what this word is. It is not a noun, it is not an adjective, it is not a quality that someone possesses. It is a verb. A verb is what one does, not what one has.

It is the verb that sums up God.

God Is.

And it is the verb that sums us up, human beings, spirits incarnate on Earth.

We Are.
